Resulting from a research project on women authors, this bibliography covers Canadian women authors and their works, as well as Canadian publications written about women or "women's issues". The bibliography provides access to the wide range of genres and ideological bearings of early Canadian women, including memoirs, diaries and collected letters, drama, exploration and travelers' accounts, printed ephemera, political pamphlets, and much more.
The bibliography is divided into two sections: women authors and men authors. The work is primarily organized by author, with a supplementary subject index to facilitate interdisciplinary access.

This bibliography includes a register and three indexes for the 1,900 monographs included in the CIHM Native Studies microfiche collection. The collection contains books, as well as pamphlets, reports and papers, relating to aboriginal peoples living in Canada and the northern United States. Government documents are not included.
