| Post-Loyalist Settlement I (1814 - 1830)
An Act for the distribution of funds from the sale of clergy lands to the Church of Scotland, Lower Canada, 1824
Document Summary:
This act allows the Presbyterian Church of Scotland the same advantages as the Anglican Church of England when it comes to using clergy reserve land rent and sale money for the upkeep of their parishes. This is done because Scottish immigration has started to surpass all other types of immigration, and it is anticipated that this will continue. Thus, the same privileges are extended to the Presbyterian Church in all fairness.
It, however, does not stipulate how much revenue sharing is to be given to the Presbyterian Church, only that it may profit from the revenues given to the Anglican Church of England.
