This charter gives the Compagnie des Indes Occidentales
(West Indies Company) control over vast territories in the Americas
that were controlled by France, as well as large areas of South
America and Africa, for 40 years. The company will not take part
in the civil administration of New France.

all lands returning to the control of the Crown.
