Losses Bill, 1849

Louis LaFontaine introduced this contentious
bill in February 1849 into the Legislative
Assembly of the Province of Canada. It sought
to compensate those in what had been Lower Canada
for damages that resulted from the rebellions.

Grey on April 30, 1849. Some important sections:
- Section I: Calls for a "more minute inquiry" into
losses after the Lower Canada rebellions
