Graves Simcoe purchases land from Mississauga Aboriginals (Between
Lakes Ontario and Erie, Dec. 7, 1792) Document
Summary: Britain buys tracts of lands from various Aboriginal tribes
between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. Britain also retains the right to build roads
and use waterways for its own purposes "free and unmolested" from Aboriginal
interference. Aboriginals living in the region see their rights to this
land and resources extinguished forever.
