| The
Indenture made at Carrying Place, Ontario (Also known as
The Gunshot Treaty, 1787 and 1805) Document
Summary: Britain purchases land, water and other resources along
Lake Ontario that stretches from current-day Etobicoke to the Bay of Quinte, and
extends about 20 kilometers - the sound of a gunshot - inland. Aboriginals
living in the region see their rights to this land and resources extinguished
forever.
